about me

birthing emma

welcome to this space, a place where i hope to simply be me, and where you might be invited to join me in doing the same.

who am i?

last night dreamt the name ’emma’ was given to me, looked the name up this morning to discover it means ‘whole’, and threw my head back with the laughter of deep seated joy.  yes! this is simply who i long to be … completely here, wholly human, utterly sacred, all at once, all of me. in the same breath.

i believe I most fully discover, uncover, and recover myself through writing.  on the page it all comes up and out to be seen and to be loved….the beautiful, the terrible, the hopeful, and the frightened, in one blessed cup.  it is a perfect whole-maker for me.

my connection to earth also feeds me. i find time immersed in/communing with the earth to be healing and whole-making as it reconnects me with what is deepest in me.  in wild places, i  experience a more natural presence, an embodiment of my spirit and soul, which seems to take me out of my head and into the vitality of life. often it is moments in nature that inspire me to write.

my experience of being a woman (for me, that has meant being a birther/bringer of life; a mother/nurturer of life; a lover; a grandmother/wisdom and compassion giver; and a friend) continues to be my greatest spiritual journey. that journey continues to invite me to grow in my understandings of compassion and love, wholeness and grace.

i hope for Love’s continued be-coming within all.

all is well
