virginal view

Love came to visit me one day and I took her for a walk around my village. First, I showed her round the meadows and the gardens filled with beauty and she smiled. But she wanted to see more. So I led her to the places where I thought she would be welcome, to the places filled with hunger and with pain. And she wept. And her tears made blossoms spring from the decay. But she wanted to see more. And so she led me to the places I despised, to the walls of the oppressor. and as she opened up their doors and revealed their fear to me, I wept. And it was there that I saw beauty for the very first time.
