nuptial visitation

nuptial visitation

my beloved

you lay down with me at last

surrendering completely

to compassion

and in this tender moment

i feel your sorrow heavy

on my breast

the weight of longing, striving, failing,

released into your mourning

as we melt.

i feel your dissolution

settle down

into my absorption

and lo, it so heavy there

and yet my saturated heart

somehow becomes a sponge

to soothe your pain

and as i bathe you in my arms

you dissolve

as i

and there is only us

dripping tears upon the bed
