about me
welcome to this space, a place where i hope to simply be, and where you might be invited to join me in doing the same.
who am i?
last night dreamt the name ‘emma’ was given to me in a dream, looked it up this morning to discover it means ‘whole’, threw my head back with the joy of laughter. yes! this is who i am…wholly human, utterly sacred, at once. in the same breath.
i express myself …my humanity, my divinity….best through writing, it is a perfect whole-maker for me. on the page it all comes up and out to be seen and to be loved….the beautiful, the terrible, in one blessed cup. yes, it is in writing that i feel most like myself.
i appreciate gardening with native plants, another attempt i suppose at reclaiming wholeness and balance. there is nothing nearly so complete-in-one-place as nature left to be. i savor any time spent in nature, actually. i find time spent immersed there to be healing and whole-making. it connects me with what is deepest in me. as you might imagine, i love to hike and to camp and canoe.
i cherish my spiritual direction practice. it is so rich a journey to be invited to travel with another, to witness the beauty of the inner landscape where god and the other walk, to be invited into that sacred ground. i listen to persons’ sacred stories both face to face (in my home office) and via email and phone (see http://home.comcast.net/~sacredlistening/site/)
i also find leading retreats to be life-giving. i hope to give birth to safe and sacred spaces where persons might enter in and find themselves to be loved and to be Love, to be heard into wholeness.
i volunteer for a regional contemplative community, www.oasismin.org , which offers training programs, prayer and mindfulness practices, quiet days, and retreats through which individuals may come to experience the unfolding of Spirit in their daily lives.
my experience of being a woman continues to be my greatest spiritual journey. through it, my soul continues to grow vastly in its understanding of wholeness and union, compassion and love.
i pray for Love’s continued be-coming within all.
all is well
